Descriptive text adalah jenis teks belajar bahasa ingris yang mendasar. Di dunia saat ini, membaca adalah hal mendasar dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
Ketika anak-anak kita belajar membaca, dan sebagai orang dewasa, kita membaca untuk belajar. Kita membaca untuk belajar tentang berita, belajar
tentang aturan, dan belajar tentang bagaimana melakukan sesuatu. Kita juga menggunakan membaca untuk belajar bahasa Inggris.

Descriptive text adalah suatu teks yang menjelaskan atau mendeskripsikan seseorang, binatang atau suatu benda. Sebuah descriptive text yang
menjelaskan benda baik bentuknya, sifat-sifatnya, jumlahnya dan lain-lain.

Tujuan dari descriptive untuk menjelaskan, menggambarkan atau mengungkapkan tentang sebuah objek.

Ciri-Ciri Penting Descriptive Text

• Verb yang digunakan yaitu attribute verb, seperti be (am, is, are) yang menjelaskan sifat sebuah objek.

misal; she is tall

• Tense yang digunakan yaitu simple present tense. Karena descriptive text memberikan informasi tentang kenyataan yang ada saat ini.

contoh; My cat likes to eat fish

 

• Hanya fokus pada satu objek tersebut. Berbeda dengan report teks yang bisa menceritakan tentang banyak hewan dalam satu spesies misalnya,
descriptive text harus menceritakan satu objek saja. misal kucing milik sobat yang bernama katy.

 

Struktur Descriptive Text (generic structure) adalah :

Generic structure dari sebuah teks bahasa inggris akan membantu sobat dalam memahami isi teks. saat sobat kurang mengerti kata dalam sebuah
paragraf sobat bisa melihat generic structure nya.

1. Identification (identifikasi) adalah pendahuluan, berupa gambaran umum tentang suatu topik.Berisikan kalimat manis pembuka teks, misal: I have a cute
cat.

2.Description (deskripsi) adalah berisi ciri-ciri khusus yang dimiliki benda, tempat, atau orang yang dideskripsikan. Selanjutnya dalam sebuah descriptive
text hanya tinggal menjelaskan ciri dari si objek. misal paragraf kedau menceritakan ciri fisik si objek. paragraf ke 3 menceritakan makanan kesukaan si
objek.

My Favorite Teacher

My favorite teacher is my history teacher, and he is by far the best teacher that I have ever had. He has the ability to make a subject that many students find
incredibly boring come to life through his enthusiasm and passion for history, and his love of being a teacher. Going to his lessons is something we look
forward to, not dread, like we do with most other lessons.

It’s ever so funny to watch him get excited about something, which happens in every lesson. It’s easy to know that he’s getting excited because he begins
bouncing up and down slightly in a way that no other sixty-something year old would ever managed without looking completely ridiculous. He has this dark
(with more and more grey streaks these days), springy hair that lines the edge of his growing bald patch, and the hair bounces up and down with him like
thousands of tiny little springs. Then, he takes on his whole new persona, often going into role and becoming the character or figure he is talking about,
doing the voices, the actions, and parading up and down the room gesticulating wildly, but all the while there’s a gentle ‘bounce, bounce, bounce’, as
though the springs are not just on his head but on the soles of his shoes too.

Guru favorit saya adalah guru sejarah saya, dan sejauh ini dia adalah guru terbaik yang pernah saya miliki. Dia memiliki kemampuan untuk membuat
subjek yang membuat banyak siswa merasa sangat membosankan menjadi hidup melalui antusiasme dan hasratnya terhadap sejarah, dan cintanya
menjadi seorang guru. Pergi ke pelajarannya adalah sesuatu yang kita nantikan, bukan ketakutan, seperti yang kita lakukan dengan sebagian besar
pelajaran lainnya.

The Beauty of Prambanan Temple

Prambanan, the most beautiful and largest Hindu temple complex in Java, built in the 8th century by the Sanjaya Dynasty. The cluster of the temple is
named “Prambanan” because it is located in the Prambanan area.

The Prambanan temple was built in three levels of ground. The lower, middle and upper ground. The more deep the candi built, the more high its position.
Successively the ground area is 390 square meters, 222 square meters and 110 square meters. The upper ground or the center ground consists of 16 big and small candi.

The main candi consists of two lines of candi facing each other. In The first line there are Candi Siwa, Candi Wisnu and Candi Brahma, while in the second line there are Candi Nandi, Candi Angsa and Candi Garuda. The candi at the end of the corridor of the first two lines candi are Candi Apit. The candi in the corners called Candi Sudut and four others called Candi Kelir. At the middle ground or the second level there is only the ruins of
Candi Perwara.

The Beauty of Borobudur Temple

One of our most memorable places we visited was the Borobudur. Standing proud and majestic, the gigantic rock structure looks like fantasy monument from a Tomb Raider scene.

The Borobudur is a 9th century Mahayana Buddhist Temple. It is located deep in the area of Magelang, Central Java. The structure consists of 9 stacked platforms, 6 square and 3 circular, topped by an enormous central dome. The temple is decorated with more than 2,500 relief panels and up to 500 Buddha statues. The central dome is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues, each seated inside a perforated stupa. It is the world’s largest Buddhist temple
and also one of the greatest monuments in the world.

Lotus, My Favourite Flower

 

The reason why I like the lotus is very funny, it’s because I have not seen anyone putting the lotus on their head to decorate their hair! I do not like plucking flowers to be put on the hair.

Have you noticed the lotus? It is mostly rose in colour. It comes out from the muddy swamp and beautifies even the damp. When we see the full bloomed
lotus we forget the damp and the dirt. There lies the beauty of the flower. The lotus looks very beautiful with its long petals, decked on its big green leaves.
Many a times we are tempted to pluck it, but be careful, looks are deceptive! The lotus has a long stem and it’s strong and deep, so we need not try to pluck
it as we might fall into the water.
